What’s the difference between virtual therapy and in-person therapy?
Essentially, nothing. Some people believe that in-person therapy is superior to virtual therapy, but nothing could be further from the truth. You receive the same level of care in virtual or in-person therapy. Both have benefits, but in my opinion, the benefits of virtual therapy much outweigh the benefits of in-person therapy. Let’s take a look at them:
Benefits of Virtual Therapy:
1. Easy to access. If you have a phone, you can do virtual therapy. You don’t need to have a car, or depend on others for transportation to and from your appointments.
2. Takes less time: You don’t have to spend time getting ready to leave the house, or to drive to the therapy office. You can spend that saved time for something else like family, friends, or relaxing.
3. More comfort: You can be as comfortable as is appropriate (showing up to session in your comfiest clothes for example). You are surrounded by your comfortable environment and things. This is often very helpful especially for clients with high anxiety or who are sensitive to stimulating environments.
4. No waiting rooms: You don’t have to wait for me. You just log on at the right time.
5. Accessible: A lot of people live in rural area and this gives them easy, accessible therapy.
These are just a few reasons I exclusively offer virtual therapy over in-person therapy. I care about my client’s time, comfort, and accessibility. If you’re ready to book, just click the button below.
