Anxious Thoughts and the Anxious Mind

Anxiety is often recognized by the symptoms of anxious thoughts, worry, and stress of the mind. Racing thoughts, or looping thoughts, can often be present in numerous anxiety disorders like Generalized Anxiety Disorder (characterized by chronic worry), Social Anxiety Disorder (characterized by negative thoughts about the other’s perception of you), Phobia (looping and chronic negative panic and thoughts about a specific item, person, place, or behavior), and Panic Disorder (sudden and intense anxiety and worry within a present situation). Looping, anxious thoughts can feel like there is no escape from one’s brain. Over time, the stress caused by these thoughts can activate many physical symptoms of stress as well, affecting the entire human system in negative and harmful ways.

Luckily, there is a gold star of therapeutic intervention in anxious thoughts that focuses treatment on calming an anxious mind, and disrupting a looping, anxious thought spiral. That gold star intervention is called CBT, or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. CBT has been the focus of decades of research, specifically with the application to anxiety and the anxious brain. This solid foundation in research is the reason I practice CBT for anxiety. Through CBT techniques, I can help you calm the anxiety and thoughts that are causing your mind to race and stress, day in and out. To book a session, just click below.
